Captain Gemini XXXIII, Jamey Purdy
Jamey Purdy was born and raised in Minden, Louisiana. He graduated from Glenbrook High School in Minden in 1995. After high school, Jamey attended Louisiana Tech University where he majored in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Following college, he also attended Northwest Louisiana Vocational College where he specialized in Drafting and Design. Jamey has been employed locally by McElroy Metal for the past 19 years where he has been a Technical Specialist in the Engineering Department.
Jamey is in his ninth year as a member of the Krewe of Gemini. During that time, he has served as Duke of Arkansas for Gemini XXVII, on the Constitution and By-Laws Committee as well as the Nomination Committee, as Float (AD) Lieutenant, and on the Board of Directors as a Member-at-Large, Captain-Elect, and Co-Captain. While being a part of the Krewe of Gemini, Jamey has met and made many new friends and is looking forward to making many more lasting friendships.
Outside of the Krewe, Jamey enjoys hunting deer from his "mansion in the sky" and duck hunting. He also loves fishing, traveling, skeet and sporting clays shooting, golf, bowling, football (Texas A&M and the Dallas Cowboys), live music, comedy shows, and cooking. He is a Lifetime Member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) and Ducks Unlimited. Jamey would like to thank his family and friends for all of their support over the years. He is honored to have the privilege to serve as Captain Gemini XXXIII.
