The Duke of Arkansas for Gemini XX, Robby Wise, has lived in Shreveport since he was five years old. A graduate from Captain Shreve High School and Louisiana State University — Shreveport, our Duke earned his degree in chemistry. Following graduation, he spent the next five years working as an analytical chemist.

Then, he went back to college and, in 2002, graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center with a degree in Medicine. He currently works as an emergency room physician with the Christus Schumpert System. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s degree in Business Administration from Centenary College.

He and his wife of eleven years have two wonderful children: Jacob (eight) and Lauren (six). Our Duke describes himself first and foremost as a husband, daddy, and family man. His hobbies include time with family and friends, scuba diving, snow skiing and exercising. In December he will run in his first marathon in Dallas, Texas.

Duchess of Arkansas XX Judy FrenchThe Duchess of Arkansas for Gemini XX, Judy French, was born and raised in Minden, Louisiana. Upon high school graduation she moved to Monroe to attend Northeast Louisiana University (now known as ULM) where she received a degree in Aviation. She has been married for 23 years to her real life “Prince Charming.”

Before moving to Shreveport, she lived in Ruston where she worked in the court system and was the administrator for the drug task force. She has lived in Shreveport for twelve years where she enjoys her job as a “domestic diva.” She joined the Krewe of Gemini in 2000 and has served as Co-Chair of 12th Night, Membership Chair, Publicity Chair, and Bal Program Chair.

She also served as consort to husband Clyde when he was Duke of Louisiana for Gemini XIV and as King Gemini XVII. Our Duchess of Arkansas enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.


The Duke of Louisiana for Gemini XX, Bob Vento, was born in the Northern part of the country and is a first generation Italian-American. He traveled the world during his career in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He is the recipient of a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and the Army Meritorious Service Medal. His military career brought him to Huntsville, Alabama to work as a signal engineer on the Redstone Rocket and in research and development of the Safeguard System, a very early precursor of Cyber Command. He retired at the rank of Major from the military and a subsequent career in Civil Service.

He moved to Louisiana ten years ago to be near his son and daughter and their families. He is a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. His other hobbies include swimming, stamp and coin collecting, gardening, reading, and enjoying good meals.

Bob is a relatively new member but is no stranger to the Krewe of Gemini, having attended the Grand Ball and other events for years with his family. He rode with his daughter on the Queen’s float in 2007. He is honored to serve as the Duke of Louisiana for Gemini XX and is looking forward to making new friends during the Mardi Gras season.

Duchess of Louisiana XX Lauri WallaceThe Duchess of Louisiana for Gemini XX, Lauri Wallace, is of French Ancestry. Her great-great-great-grandfather founded the town of Houma in south Louisiana.

In addition to being a native Louisianan, she reigns from “royal” blood as her Mother was a Queen in the Krewe of Carthage in New Orleans in 1950. Lauri learned to say “Throw me something, mister!” at an early age as she grew up watching many parades with her grandparents in Jackson Square in New Orleans.

She is a graduate of Woodlawn High School where she was an original member of the Red Line Dance Team. Our Duchess of Louisiana graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Business Administration and Communications and is a Certified Human Resource Professional.

Lauri has been married to her wonderful husband Tommy for 24 years. They are the proud parents of one son, Matthew. The family rode in their first parade in 2002, and Matthew was a Prince for Gemini XIV. Our Duchess has been the Teen Float Lieutenant and is currently the Membership Chairman and Ball Seating Chairman.

To relax, Lauri enjoys playing board games and cards with her family, cruising the open seas, and her new-found hobby: making handcrafted custom-designed jewelry.


The Duke of Texas for Gemini XX is Bob Sykes. Bob recently retired from General Motors with 39 years of service as a Lead Supplier Quality/ Design Engineer at the Shreveport Operations Plant.

He received his education at Michigan State University and is a graduate of the General Motors Institute with a Degree in Design and Quality Engineering.

His religious and civic activities include membership of Haughton Baptist Temple and serving as a member of the Metro Planning Committee (MPC) Board of Appeals in the City of Benton. Professionally, he is still a member of the Society Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Bob joined the Krewe of Gemini in 2000. Bob says his joining the Krewe was a life changing experience. His duties as a member of the Krewe include building floats, float lieutenant, Kembership Chair, and, most recently, Co-Captain Parade for three years.

Bob’s hobbies include travelling to visit family & great friends and attending NASCAR events across the country. Playa Del Carmen in Mexico is his favorite destination. While at home, he enjoys boating and tackling home and remodeling projects.

He and his lovely wife of 21 wonderful years, Gail, have three grown adult children: two boys & one girl.

Duchess of Texas XX Tresa FryeThe Duchess of Texas for Gemini XX is Tresa Frye. Tresa grew up on the outer banks of North Carolina, the youngest of three siblings. At the age of 21, she moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, and was crowned Miss South Dakota in 1994. She has a degree in Dental Business Management. She and her husband of thirteen years moved to Bossier City in 2001 and are now proud to call Louisiana their home.

Our Duchess is a Certified Groomer, and has an Associate Degree in the Expanded Function of Dental and a Degree in Dental Business Management. Her civic activities include serving as President of the Deployed Spouses Group at Barksdale Air Force Base, is a volunteer for the Cancer Research Center and Board Chair for Prevent Child Abuse — LA. Her Krewe activities have been serving as a float lieutenant and as Meetings Chair for two years.

Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, golfing, ebaying, and spending time with her husband, Master Sergeant David Frye, and their four dogs.
