To steal from the rich and give to the poor, Float “N” with its fryers, band of thieves and merry maids epitomizes the theme of Robin Hood by tossing coins, trinkets and play money into a crowd of eager on-lookers. A blend of good and evil…depending on where you stand…solidifies this year’s overall theme of the “Bad Boys of Gemini”. Float Lieutenant Barbara White, a.k.a. Head Merry Maid, and the other merry maids, Barzanna White, Melissa Elrod, Jean Hollenshead, Sylvia Adams and Linda Heehery, all look forward to dancing and merriment. Herb Doughty, co-float lieutenant, will play the part of Robin Hood. The other band of thieves and portly monks include Richard Murdaugh, Ernie Adams, Pete Heehery and Joe White. The Parade Committee is pleased to report that on October 11 the Shreveport City Council voted unanimously to authorize Mayor Glover to enter a new ten year parade contract with the Krewe of Gemini. In the administrative meeting on the 10th, Mayor Glover praised the efforts of our Krewe and vowed his support to the parades and keeping the neighborhood route as it is now.
Our thanks go to the entire City of Shreveport Special Events Task Force, Shelly Ragle, the City Council and Mayor Glover for their continued commitment to ten more years of Mardi Gras success in the Ark-La-Tex. Brad Graff Septemper 2011 Bead Order Update

The 2012 bead orders have been sent to our suppliers. Any member who did not submit a bead order in August and plan on riding this season should contact their respective float lieutenant for a revised bead order form. As was communicated in several newsletters according to the By-Laws members who do not renew by Coronation will be moved to the “no response category” and respective spots on the float are no longer guaranteed. The Board hopes you will consider renewing and you are reminded that those members renewing after Coronation are responsible for the $20 carrying fee making membership $345. This is the status update of current membership.
For those members who renewed this season the Board thanks you for your continued support. Also please join me in welcoming the below New Krewe Members for the 2011-2012 Season.
